Connecting to SIM University (UniSIM) Wi-Fi is a simple and straightforward process. Follow these steps to get connected:

1. Understanding the Wi-Fi Options
UniSIM offers two main Wi-Fi networks:
- unisem-open: Provides open access to the internet without requiring login credentials.
- unisem-secure: Requires authentication using your UniSIM network ID and password. It offers secure access to university resources and a faster connection.
2. Choosing the Right Network
For basic internet access, select “unisem-open.” For secure access to university resources, choose “unisem-secure.”
3. Connecting to “unisem-open”
- Go to your device’s Wi-Fi settings.
- Select “unisem-open” from the available networks.
- You will be automatically connected to the internet.
4. Connecting to “unisem-secure”
- Open your Wi-Fi settings on your device.
- Select “unisem-secure” from the network list.
- Enter your UniSIM network ID and password provided by the university.
- Click “Connect” to establish a secure connection.
5. Troubleshooting Connection Issues
- Ensure your device is within range of the Wi-Fi access points.
- Verify that you have entered the correct network ID and password (for “unisem-secure”).
- If the problem persists, contact the IT Service Desk at +65 6730 5151 or submit a support request online.
6. Important Notes
- Changing Wi-Fi passwords or network settings is strictly prohibited.
- UniSIM uses a fair usage policy for Wi-Fi access. Excessive bandwidth usage may result in bandwidth throttling.
- The university reserves the right to monitor and audit network usage for security and compliance purposes.
